Uurglas from the afrikaans word for hourglass. For every photo marks a moment of sand that slipped through the hourglass of our lives, a moment passed, never to repeat itself. But unlike those uncaptured moments that are forever lost to the passage of time - a photo captures those moments, altering reality by preserving those fleeting moments for us to revisit to reminisce about out lives, our youths, lost friends and found loves, about moments of joy that would other wise have been forgotten, lost to the sand of times.

 

That is why I take photos.

My wedding and family photos are seldom posed but rather focus on those precious fleeting moments of human interaction and genuine smiles.
